Montgomery Miles & Stone was founded by Richard Montgomery and Dave Miles with a clear purpose: to build a dedicated solicitors' practice in Kelowna that could serve the growing legal needs of the Okanagan's business community.
In most Canadian cities, solicitors' firms — focused on transactional, corporate, and advisory work rather than litigation — are common. In Kelowna, that gap was wide open. MMS was created to fill it.
When Deanna Stone joined as an associate in 2011 and became partner in 2016, the firm grew into what it is today: a team of six lawyers, a licensed trademark agent, and dedicated support staff serving individuals and businesses of all sizes — from local Okanagan operations to clients across Canada and around the world.
We work from the Landmark 2 building on Dolphin Avenue, where our fifth-floor office is a practical, accessible space built for focused legal work and personal client service.

Founding Partner
Co-founder of the firm. Brings years of solicitors' experience in corporate, commercial, and transactional law to the Okanagan's business community.

Partner
Joined the firm as an associate in 2011 and became partner in 2016. A cornerstone of the practice with deep roots in the firm's development and client relationships.
Associate
Joined MMS in 2018 from Toronto. Fluent in Mandarin and English, Allisa serves the firm's Mandarin-speaking clients and brings big-city corporate experience to the Okanagan practice.

A partner at the firm with a practice focused on corporate and commercial transactions. Peter brings detail-oriented counsel to businesses navigating complex legal matters.

Allisa Wu provides legal services in both Mandarin and English, supported by her executive assistant Tian Ren. Mandarin-speaking clients get the same clear, direct communication — in their language.
Six lawyers means you know who's working on your file — and they know you. But we're big enough to handle complex, multi-faceted matters without farming work out to other firms.
Based in Kelowna, but not limited to it. We serve clients across Canada and internationally — particularly in trademark and IP matters, corporate transactions, and cross-border business structuring.
Vanessa Carle is a licensed trademark agent on our team — meaning we handle the full IP lifecycle in-house, from search and filing to registration and enforcement, without referring you elsewhere.
We know Kelowna. We know the local business landscape, the real estate market, and the people building lives and enterprises here. That local knowledge shows in the practical, relevant advice we give.
